Shotgun Sisters

I’m not quite sure what draws me into shooting a gun, but I just love it. I suppose it is because I feel a sense of empowerment and control. Yesterday my mom’s best friend and her sporting clay national champion son took my little sister and me out for our first time to shoot skeet and clay targets. My terminology is probably all off here so bear with me… Anyhoo, it took me a few rounds to figure out how to properly hold a shotgun (I’ve only ever shot handguns) but I eventually started to get into the swing of things.

Sporting clays were certainly not my cup of tea, but once I started shooting at the skeet birds I felt as if I had found a new hobby. My little sister was pretty killer as well! Today we both feel like our right arms may fall off from the bruising and soreness, but I would say it’s worth it! I’m already looking forward to my next trip.

I’ve never gone shooting, but it looks fun! Probably loud and a little stressful, though. (At least for me, since I get anxious easily.) I imagine it’s quite satisfying to cause a bunch of noise and action, haha.
