“designated” for such antics.
Although I have a boyfriend (and therefore a valentine) this year, we both treat it the same way my parents do. Not to mention he’s half way across the country, which makes it difficult for celebrating even if we felt like it. But that doesn’t mean I can’t dress up for the heck of it, right? So in between all of my classes today I decided to wear the brightest, most obnoxious, “in your face”, pink dress that I own, which really wasn’t too hard to do apparently. On top of that I put on more than just a little foundation and mascara today! I went full out with eyeliner, blush, and wait for it — lip gloss. Essentially, I decided to live on the edge today.
I’m a lucky girl to be surrounded by so many loving and caring people, and I feel even luckier knowing it’s shown to me on “regular” days. I’m certainly not saying Valentine’s Day is horrible by any stretch of the imagination. It’s just an added day in the year to dress up when you normally wouldn’t, and to remind those close to you how much you love them.
