I was staying off of Sunset Boulevard in West Hollywood right before it turned into Beverley Hills, which instantly made me envision one of my favorite movies, a film noir from 1950 named after the famous street, Sunset Boulevard. Such an eerie depiction of Hollywood, look it up you will thank me later.
The highlight of the trip was probably going to eat dinner my last night there at the Château Marmont. To me, it is the quintessential Hollywood glamour hotel, boasting guests such as Clark Gable, Jean Harlow, Elizabeth Taylor, Marilyn Monroe, Johnny Depp, Leonardo DiCaprio, etc. etc. over the years. At night the hotel perched on the hillside is very gothic – it brings you back to a completely different time.
All the fancy little outings aside, I had a marvelous time just brunching the mornings away with delicious food and going to some of my favorite places for some good ol’ fashion tourist shopping (aka The Grove, picture below). I already want to go back for more! But until then it’s back to real life in the desert of Arizona and studying for my French test in a few days. With that said, au revoir!
