Scroll, Scroll, Scroll, and Pause

Can we please stop and talk about how amazing Karlie Kloss is? Yes, for the thousandth time I am bringing her up — but I can’t help it, she’s incredible. Lately I have been scrolling through numerous editorials trying to find inspiration when I stumbled upon this spread of Karlie with this year’s Olympic hopefuls from the USA. And for those of you who do not know, I’m an avid tennis player. I’ve played for almost ten years now — and love the sport with a passion. The elegance and timelessness of the sport is what has kept me coming back to it even though I no longer play competitively. The entire spread, which can be seen here is just incredible. The juxtaposition of Karlie’s slender body next to the different shapes and sizes of the muscular athletes is just beautiful. But this image of Karlie and the Bryan brothers is something that I cannot take my eyes off of. The stillness and control in Karlie’s pose is breathtaking. She looks amazing in that little Versace number — which is quite reminiscent of the texture of a tennis ball; obviously it was chosen for this specific moment for a reason. And although I love Karlie, I really am loving the Bryan brothers just as much. The quirkiness that they bring to this shot is exciting — and something I enjoy in an editorial. Serious statuesque poses, such as Karlie’s, can be show-stopping; but sometimes I also enjoy seeing the true character and personality of people getting their image taken. So the combo of the two together is really working for me. What are your thoughts?

Yours Truly,
Lomax
