Most people tend to put prom on some silly pedestal because they believe it will be a life changing experience. Sure when I was a freshman in high school I thought that it was going to be amazing but by senior year I’ve come to realize that it’s merely just an excuse for kids to get drunk, go dancing, and then get even more drunk afterwards. This year I went to my fourth prom, and this time with one of my best friends Kelly Mittendorf. The best part of the dance for me was simply dressing up and taking pictures. Surprise, surprise.

This time around I decided to go with a more bold dress as opposed to my typical classic black looks of years past. It was actually kind of fun dressing differently than I normally would; I’m now attempting to add more color into my wardrobe. I used to be a girl who wore bright pink and yellow every day, I would never even consider wearing black; my mom can testify to this. Now all I buy are black skinny jeans, blouses, and shoes. So my goal for this coming summer is to shop for all things colorful!
